The situation continues to become tense in Avdiïvka, this town located in eastern Ukraine which marks the front line between Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian separatists. For a few days, the Russian army has significantly increased its pressure on the area, which could indicate an intensification of conflicts in the days to come.

Reinforced military devices

According to information from local sources, the Russian army would have deployed significant reinforcements around Avdiïvka. Armored vehicles, artillery pieces and additional troops were reportedly seen arriving in the area. This information has not been confirmed by the Kremlin, which declined to comment.

This new pressure of the Russian army on Avdiïvka does not fail to worry international observers. The city could well represent the new flashpoint of a conflict which has never really stopped since 2014.
