A look back at nearly two years of disenchantment with management: a bitter experience

\n\n

It is common, in a professional setting, to cross paths with a management with whom you do not get along. For almost two years, I had an experience of disenchantment with the management of my company. A disenchantment which, far from being a simple whim, was tinged with frustration, incomprehension and, sometimes even, anger.

A working relationship that was intended to be promising

\n\n

At first everything was fine. The promises of fulfilling work and humanist management were the stuff of dreams. There direction seemed attentive and in tune with employees' expectations. Working relationships were cordial and respectful. It was even possible to suggest ideas and be heard. \n\nHowever, with the gradual crumbling of this good understanding, there appeared evidence of a disenchantment, of a rupture between management and me.

The beginning of a growing disenchantment

\n\n

Quickly, I noticed a change in attitude, a growing gap between what was promised and the reality on the ground. Communication has dried up, exchanges have become rougher and less constructive. The feeling of being supported by direction has given way to a feeling of being constantly under pressure, for fear of making the slightest mistake. We cannot talk about love in such a work climate.

Two years of frustration under tension

\n\n

During these two years, the working climate was more than tense. Rough relationships, lack of consideration and the feeling of being undervalued were daily life. It is important to underline the impact this has had on morale, motivation and well-being at work. We can only note the disenchantment growing and the frustrations that such a context generates.

Looking back on a painful experience

\n\n

Ultimately, this episode shows that a lack of fairness, listening and consideration can quickly transform an attractive workplace into a source of stress. It is essential that management becomes aware of the impact that their behavior can have on the morale of their employees. It is no longer just about profits, but about respect and well-being at work.

Towards a renewal?

\n\n

Fortunately, every experience, no matter how negative, brings its share of lessons. We learn about ourselves, our limits, our values, our professional expectations. Such episodes make us understand the importance of quality management, based on listening, respect and transparency. These two years of lovelessness with management are a lesson and I hope the future will be brighter.
