Porsche Taycan: Everything about the first electric sports car
The Porsche Taycan is an electric sedan marketed by the German automobile manufacturer Porsche from 2019. It is the first 100% electric model from the Stuttgart manufacturer. After long months of waiting, Porsche finally unveils its first electric car. On occasion, three press conferences organized simultaneously \nin front of Niagara Falls in the United States, Berlin and China, and broadcast live on YouTube. \n\n\n

Features of the Porsche Taycan

\n\n\nWith 2.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h, the Porsche Taycan is not that far from the Tesla Model S Performance (which reaches it in 2.6 seconds). 200 km/h is reached in 9.8 seconds on the Turbo S. The Porsche Taycan can reach 260 km/h at maximum speed. In addition, on the power side, the launch function of the Taycan will be able to exploit a maximum power of 560 kW (or 761 horsepower) combined by the two engines. The maximum torque reaches 1,050 Nm. \n\n\n\nInstalled in the floor between the two axles, the lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 93.4 kWh. It thus allows the Taycan to display autonomy as follows. 412 km in its Turbo S version and 450 km in its Turbo version. To improve autonomy, Porsche has taken particular care with the aerodynamics of the car. which has a drag coefficient (Cx) of only 0.22. Engineers also worked on developing a particularly effective braking energy recovery system. This is capable of reaching 265 kW in “Range” mode. \n\n\n\nIn addition, a particularly effective thermal management system is there. It is responsible for maintaining the correct temperature of the battery and other high-voltage components, as well as the passenger compartment. It also eliminates potential power losses, which are caused by different factors usually likely to cause an increase in heat in the cells. \n\n\n

What about its design?

\n\n\nThe Porsche Taycan is visually very close to the Mission E concept. We quickly see that it is a Porsche thanks to the front and rear light signature and the proportions of the car which are halfway between a 911 and a Panamera. . We note new rims with a futuristic appearance and work on the front headlights to stand out from the others. The aluminum brakes housed in these wheels are impressive. They go up to a diameter of 420 mm on the Turbo S, associated with 10-piston calipers. The body is a classic 4-door. \n\n\n\nCertainly, its marketing and deliveries will not take place before the end of the year. But, the opening of orders was effective on September 4, 2019. \n\n\n\nSee you soon on our site.\n
