Inauguration of metro line 14 extended to Orly by Emmanuel Macron
\n\nLast Monday, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, was present for the inauguration of the extension of the metro line 14 to Orly.\n\n
A long-awaited achievement
\n\nEmmanuel Macron formalized this extension, announced as being the real solution to improve the connection between the capital and Orly airport. It will include four new stations, three of which are already operational. The fourth, in front of Orly, will be put into service in spring 2025.\n\n
Project Overview
\n\nThere metro line 14, extended until Orly, is the largest transport project carried out in Île-de-France in recent decades. The extension to the south extends over 14 kilometers with the construction of 4 new stations: Maison Blanche Paris 13th, Kremlin-Bicêtre Hôpital, Chevilly Trois Communes and Orly.\n\n
A significant economic impact
\n\nThe extension of line 14 to Orly is expected to have a significant economic impact. On the one hand, transport time will be reduced, which should make Paris more attractive for transit travelers. On the other hand, the project should create new jobs, both during the construction phase and for the maintenance and operation of the line.\n\n
Reduced transportation time
\n\nWith the extension of the line 14, the travel time between the airportOrly and the center of Paris will be significantly reduced. It will only take around thirty minutes to reach Saint-Lazare station, compared to an hour currently by public transport.\n\n
