Bruno Le Maire warns against the RN and the New Popular Front

\n\nIn a notable statement this Monday, the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire , expressed concerns about the possible rise to power of two emerging political forces in France: the National Rally (RN) and the New Popular Front. According to him, such a situation “would take the country straight into the wall”.\n\n

A stern warning against two political forces

\n\nSpeaking in an interview, the minister believes that the RN and the New Popular Front, two parts of the French political spectrum which are currently experiencing significant growth, could have disastrous consequences for the national economy. Bruno Le Maire draws a worrying parallel between these two forces and the policies that led to the economic crisis of 2008.\n\n“There is a serious risk that, if these parties were to come to power, we would find ourselves in a situation similar to that of 2008,” the minister said. “Their program, based on a massive increase in public spending and a rejection of globalization, would take us straight into the wall.”\n\n

The RN and the New Popular Front, a threat to the French economy?

\n\nThe Mayor fears that the application of the policies proposed by the RN and the New Popular Front does not lead to an increase in public spending and a reduction in foreign trade, endangering the financial health of France.\n\nThis could, in his opinion, lead to a surge in inflation and an increase in the already considerable public debt. These two factors combined could lead to a major economic crisis, comparable to the one the world experienced more than a decade ago.\n\nIn conclusion, Bruno Le Maire's speech, although direct, underlines the uncertainties surrounding the political evolution of France. One thing is certain, however, according to the minister: a radical change in economic policy, as proposed by the RN and the New Popular Front, could have disastrous consequences for all French citizens. \n\n
