Jordan Bardella targets senior civil servants, a not very successful strategy for the RN so far

Jordan Bardella relies on senior officials, a tactic that has rarely favored the RN

\n\nCandidate of the National Rally (RN) for the regional elections in Île-de-France, Jordan Bardella decided to refocus its strategy by focusing on senior civil servants. A political maneuver that has rarely favored Marine Le Pen's party in the past.\n\n

An approach that breaks with the habits of the RN

\n\nIn general, the RN was rather opposed to the civil service and its functioning. But Jordan Bardella seems to have another approach. The young candidate appealed to several senior officials to form his team, a first for his party. He believes that these people will be able to give him credibility and expertise in various key areas and thus strengthen his political positioning.\n\n

A strategy that is struggling to impose itself

\n\nHowever, this strategy is viewed with skepticism by some. Senior civil servants are generally associated with the establishment and elite against whom the RN has usually fought. Moreover, previous attempts to incorporate senior officials into the party ended in failure.\n\nThe most striking example is that of Florian Philippot, former right-hand man of Marine Le Pen. Coming from the ENA, he tried to steer the party towards a more centrist and technocratic vision, an approach which ultimately led to his sidelining.\n\nJordan Bardella therefore takes a risky bet by relying on the senior officials. The question remains whether the party and its voters will be receptive to this new approach.\n\n

A need for renewal?

\n\nIt is possible that this new strategy is a sign of a desire for renewal within the RN. After several electoral defeats, the party could seek to broaden its electoral base and differentiate itself from its traditional image. Only time will tell whether this tactic will be successful or whether it will be another mistake in the party's long list of attempts at innovation. \n\n
