Gabriel Attal intervenes after the blocking of Sciences Po Paris

\n\nThe current government spokesperson, Gabriel Attal, reacted strongly following the blockage which took place at Sciences Po Paris. The incident, described as a “shocking spectacle” by the minister, provoked several reactions.\n\n

The situation at Sciences Po Paris

\n\nBeginning on the morning of last Thursday, the occupation of the premises of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) by a collective of students and activists did not leave anyone indifferent. The objective according to the leaders of this movement was to initiate a debate concerning student precariousness, following the tragedy of the young student who set himself on fire in Lyon. \n\nHowever, this mobilization subsequently degenerated, causing blockages and disruptions, and forcing management to cancel part of the courses. The students expressed their anger and incomprehension about the situation.\n\n

Gabriel Attal's reaction

\n\nGabriel Attal, Secretary of State to the Prime Minister and government spokesperson, for his part castigated the blockage, describing it as “shocking spectacle”. On the social network Twitter, he wrote: “Blocking access to students who wish to study is a shocking spectacle. Student precariousness is a real struggle, taking hostages is not a solution. »\n\nThe government spokesperson thus denounced a form of radicalization of union actions, believing that this does not contribute to a constructive resolution of the problems and legitimate concerns that students may encounter.\n\nIt is undeniable that the social situation of students remains worrying and should be addressed seriously and diligently. However, as Gabriel Attal pointed out, resorting to extreme means of action, such as blocking educational establishments, only obstructs the dialogue necessary to address and resolve this important issue. \n\n
