Four departments on the Atlantic coast still on orange alert

\n\nAs this turbulent week continues, weather conditions continue to deteriorate along the Atlantic coast. Four departments still remain orange alert according to the latest Météo France bulletin.\n\n

The departments concerned

\n\nThe departments affected by this alert are Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Landes and Pyrénées-Atlantiques. The changing weather situation in these areas is causing concern, with forecasts predicting increasingly unfavorable weather. These four departments of the Atlantic facade are therefore asked to remain vigilant.\n\n

Disrupted weather conditions

\n\nThe main cause of these alerts is linked to the arrival of an active depression coming from the Atlantic Ocean. It will generate strong winds and could cause flooding due to heavy rain. Since yesterday, violent winds have been sweeping these regions, with gusts reaching 100 km/h on the coast and inland. We also note a strong swell in the west as well as significant precipitation in these departments still in orange alert.\n\n

Precautionary measures to take

\n\nLocal authorities and Météo France are calling on the population to exercise extreme caution. It is advisable to avoid any unnecessary travel, to regularly monitor the weather forecasts and to observe the safety instructions given by local authorities. People located in areas at risk of flooding should be particularly vigilant. \n\nA return to normal is not expected before the start of next week. Residents of four departments of the Atlantic facade always in orange alert must therefore prepare to face a few more days of bad weather. \n\n
