Estonian PM faces Russian 'intimidation tactics'

Pursued by Moscow

\n\nKaja Kallas, the Estonian Prime Minister, expressed concern over what she perceives as aggressive actions by the Russia. Denouncing hostile behavior, Kallas refers to a series of recent incidents that have exacerbated already tense relations between Estonia and the Russia.\n\n"We have seen an intensification of the activities of the Russia in a number of areas, including cyberattacks, disinformation campaigns and provocative military maneuvers," she said. "This is a intimidation tactic clearly intended to destabilize and isolate us."\n\n

The Russian Intimidation Tactic

\n\nKallas identified several specific incidents that she believes demonstrate the intimidation tactic of the Russia, notably the continued increase in Russian military forces on the Estonian border.\n\n“We are a sovereign nation and we have the right to make decisions that are in our best interest,” she said. "There Russia is trying to intimidate us and push us into making concessions, but we won't give in."\n\n

Aspiration for security and peace

\n\nDespite these tensions, Kallas expressed his commitment to preserving peace and protecting Estonia. She stressed the need for diplomatic dialogue and reaffirmed her country's commitment to its NATO allies.\n\n"We are not seeking confrontation with the Russia, but we will not back down from attempts tointimidation. We aspire to live in peace with all our neighbors, but this must be a mutual desire,” she concluded. \n\n
